I simply love cartoons and since being a kid, Ive always found Saturday mornings to be the best time to catch up on them.  Now that Im older, there is Cartoon Network!  OMG!  I love Cartoon Network and to all of you parents…your kids should NOT, I repeat, should NOT watch it (Cartoon Network) after 9pm.  Those cartoons are for adults and are filled with innuendos and such.  My kids actually hipped me to Cartoon Network, though…haha!  I came home late from a night out and they were up (they were teenagers) watching Cowboy Bebop…Oh my goodness, these are NOT your parents cartoons! haha!

The dialogue and graphics can be borderline “porn”…but light porn…yeah I said it! haha!  Its just amazing, but I personally like the graphic quality of cartoons today.  When I was growing up cartoons were flat and silly.  Today, well, Im watching the NEW Batman — “Batman, the Brave & the Bold”, nothing like Batman of the 70’s.  This one has muscles and is so “cool” it hurts.  The dialogue is still the same to some degree, corny puns, Robin back in the side car, silly butt villains – ya’ll should see Joker now!  Robin originally had his own bike when this particular episode began, but being the sidekick, back to the side car he goes! hahaha!

I like cartoons because they are quick, colorful and action-packed.  They allow me to leave this drama filled world behind and laugh my ass off.  I like Samurai Jack, Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, Ben 10 and most stuff on Adult Swim (another program on Cartoon Network) so all kids outta the pool — or at least to bed, its adult time!

Late night cartoons really helped while I was getting my degree at CAL.  I did my homework and wrote my papers,  in the wee hours of the morning after my little ones were tucked into bed having visions of…working mommy’s nerves in the morning…haha!  (sidebar: They are all grown, but never gone…haha!) You with kids know that’s what they’re dreaming of…haha!  The infomercials drove me crazy and thus, I stayed tuned to the cartoons…thank you Nerds!

I have aspirations, even at this age, of developing a cartoon of my liking and knowing me, I will go back to school to learn how to do it.  I’m not one to really sit around and complain, which is why I even started Blac Gurlz Ink.  No lesbian greeting cards for me to give to my girl?  I will create a business to do so…hahaha!  Im a Taurus and I don’t think there’s anything I cant do.

So before you adults discount the power of the cartoon, check them out.  Some will have you laughing, others will make you say “hmmm” and still others will make you think “now that was just wrong,” all the while laughing — that would be Family Guy — between just Peter, Stewy and Brian, you will feel like your life isn’t quite so bad.

Now, I think I need to go and finish my morning ritual (wifey is awake now)….coffee, cartoons and grapes!  What a way to start your day!

Oops, in the middle of rescuing Batman, Robin is now getting stuff off his chest…oh Batman freed himself…Robin is in trouble…hahaha!  He’s older now and wants “side kick” removed from his diploma! hahaha!  Puns are a flyin

Happy Independence Day All and remember…don’t drink and drive…someone loves you and would miss you NOT being around.

The Supreme One out…fade to black…

ps – Batman is still using “old chum”…hahaha!
